PILATES

During our Pilates classes, we focus on strengthening the core muscles

(abdominal, back, and pelvic floor muscles), improving overall flexibility, and promoting good posture.

We practice this using controlled movements and breathing techniques, performed on a mat. This form of exercise is suitable for people of all fitness levels and helps, among other things, reduce stress and improve overall physical condition.

"Change happens through movement,

and movement heals."

Physiotherapy guidance

As a physiotherapist, I attach great importance on making sure each exercise is performed safely and correctly.

During our sessions, I closely monitor your technique and provide adjustments whenever necessary, so you can move with confidence and avoid injury.

If you're dealing with an injury or experiencing any pain or discomfort, please make sure to let me know before the session begins or during class. This allows me to adapt the exercises to your specific needs and offer suitable alternatives when needed.

Your safety, progress, and well-being are always my top priority.

The benefits of Pilates

Improved Strength, Stability & Overall Body Movement

Pilates focuses specifically on strengthening 'the POWER HOUSE', also known as 'the core', but more. This group of muscles consists of the abdominal muscles, lower back muscles, pelvic floor, inner thighs and glutes. It is the place where all movement begins, stabilizes and is guided from.

A strong power house not only makes you stronger and more stable, it also helps prevent back pain.

Reduced Stress

Pilates combines physical movement with a focus on breathing and mindfulness. This combination helps to calm the nervous system and reduce stress. Concentrating on your breathing and performing slow, controlled movements helps to calm your mind and relax your body.

Suitable for Everyone

One of the great things about Pilates is that it is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, fitness level or experience. The exercises can be adapted to individual needs and goals, making it an ideal choice for beginners and advanced practitioners alike.

Increased Flexibility

Many people suffer from tight muscles and joints due to sedentary lifestyles. Pilates involves a series of stretching exercises that help improve flexibility and release tension in the body. With regular practice, you will notice that you become more flexible and your range of motion increases.

Improved Posture

One of the core principles of Pilates is improving posture. By emphasizing conscious movement and control, you will learn how to align your body correctly, which helps prevent aches and pains, especially in the back, neck and shoulders. Posture also plays an important role in how you feel and how you are perceived by others and it can directly increase your self-confidence. It sends signals to your brain that you feel confident and powerful.

Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention

As a physiotherapist I can highly recommend Pilates as part of rehabilitation programs, as it helps to recover from injuries and prevent new ones. The controlled movements and emphasis on muscle balance and stability make it a safe and effective way to rebuild the body after an injury.
